This qualification is designed for Senior Leaders who aspire to become headteachers in the near future and it has been designed in collaboration with some of the country’s leading headteacher’s and academics.
NPQH will develop talented leaders who can deliver educational excellence in a self-improving system, and high quality outcomes for pupils. Evaluation evidence from trainee heads who have completed NPQH demonstrates that the programme remains a high quality leadership development programme that has direct impact on the individual, the school in which they work and their pupils.
You can control the pace and focus of your study by completing the work in a timeframe that suits you and by choosing the elective modules that interest you the most. There will be a placement at a school in a different context for a minimum of nine days.
Applicants who wish to begin the programme in 2016 may be eligible for a National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) scholarship; the applications for funding are made through Leading Schools South West (LSSW). Leadership programme applications for subsequent entry will no longer be entitled to NCTL scholarship as provision for new applicants will cease in March 2016. LSSW strongly advise NPQH Development Stage applicants to register now in order to secure a place on the NPQH programme . Applicants need to registed for the programme by 18 December 2015 at the latest.
