Equality and Diversity in Leadership (Developing Aspiring Leaders)

Primary Excellence Teaching School is delighted to announce that following the success of our Developing Aspiring Leaders Programme in 2018/2019, we have secured a second round of funding from the DFE to run a second programme in 2019/2020.  The Developing Aspiring Leaders programme has been developed as part of a national agenda to increase the equality and diversity in school leadership. We invite applications from any female aspirant leader, especially those returning to work after maternity leave.  The Developing Aspiring Leaders programme aims to equip teachers for leadership at all levels, whilst enhancing their role as coaches to ensure sustainability.

The core programme consists of six face to face sessions, 3 school visits and membership to an online community.  Delegates will be required to undertake a school improvement project, within their own school, which may support part of their current role or be something new.  Delegates will have a dedicated school coach to support and challenge them through the year, ensuring a personalised programme which is relevant to their needs.

  • To develop highly effective leaders in Teaching and Learning
  • To provide participants with tools, theories, knowledge and skills to identify and lead strategic school improvement work in their schools
  • To develop middle leaders who are effective at developing talent within their team
  • To be successful in growing the confidence of participants so that they overcome their barriers to promotion
